Itinerary
Meeting point at Motorentour facilities in Porto, on the south side of the Douro river, in Vila Nova de Gaia – Valadares. Once you arrive, you will fill out the required paperwork, have a general briefing about the tour and motorcycle assignment, and you will be introduced to your guide and to the other participants.
You can also arrange this at your hotel if you decide to arrive to Seville one day prior to the tour start (please inquire about this option). And finally you are ready to start riding.
You depart from the vibrant city of Porto, famous for its wine and iconic bridges over the Douro River. The N108, N222, N2 and N103 road leads you out of the city, providing a smooth transition from the urban environment to the rural. As you leave Porto behind, you are greeted by green hills and vineyards stretching into the horizon.
The final leg of your trip takes you through more remote and less crowded roads as you head northeast. The landscapes become increasingly wild and untouched, with mountains and deep valleys dominating the scenery.
Finally, you arrive in Bragança, a historic city rich in culture and traditions. Upon arrival, a visit to the castle and the Bragança Citadel is an excellent way to conclude the trip, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surroundings.
This first stage of the tour will be full on-road.
You depart from the historic city of Bragança, located in the heart of the Montesinho Natural Park. Surrounded by mountainous landscapes and dense forests, the fresh morning air invigorates you as you head south. The cobblestone streets and ancient walls of Bragança Castle provide a beautiful starting point for this adventure.
You follow through the natural park, offering stunning views of valleys and mountains. You pass through small villages where time seems to stand still, and you can feel the authenticity and hospitality of the Transmontano people.
You traverse the undulating landscape until you reach the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios near Lamas de Orelhão. You then head towards Mirandela, known for its bridges over the Tua River and its delicious alheira sausage.
Finally, the last leg takes you to the picturesque Vila Nova de Foz Coa. The road now guides you through vineyards and olive groves until you arrive at this charming village, famous for its historical heritage and the almond trees in bloom in the spring.
This stage of the tour will be 60% off-road.
The ride from Vila Nova de Foz Coa to Manteigas is a stage that takes riders deep into the heart of the Serra da Estrela, the largest mountain range in mainland Portugal. Starting from Vila Nova de Foz Coa, the road begins to climb, leaving behind the peaceful landscapes and plains of Trás-os-Montes and giving way to the striking mountain ranges of central Portugal.
As you progress, the route crosses valleys and streams, with the motorcycles gliding along narrow, winding tracks that snake through hills and forests. The fresh mountain air begins to make its presence felt, and the landscape changes dramatically. The trees gradually give way to more robust vegetation, and towering rocks appear along the way, creating a nearly wild atmosphere.
The track steadily ascends, offering breathtaking views of the mountain range. The rugged terrain and sharp turns require focus, but the effort is rewarded with stunning panoramas: in the distance, the peaks of Serra da Estrela rise majestically, covered by vegetation that ranges from the intense green of the forests to the harsh colors of the rocks.
With every kilometer, the environment seems more untouched, with the sound of engines blending with the calls of crows and the wind rushing through the mountains. As you approach Manteigas, a small village nestled in the mountains, the landscape takes on an air of mystery.
Fog occasionally blankets the road and the peaks, creating an ethereal, magical scene. Manteigas, with its narrow, cobbled streets, is a place where tranquility and nature come together in a unique way, offering a well-deserved rest after the intensity of the ride.
This stage of the ride is a true immersion into the wild nature of Portugal, a perfect blend of adventure and breathtaking landscapes, where the sense of freedom is matched by the grandeur of the Serra da Estrela mountains. It is a challenging but unforgettable route that leaves a lasting impression on any rider who takes it.

The ride from Manteigas to Belver is a stage that crosses one of the most charming regions of Portugal, offering the perfect blend of imposing mountains and picturesque villages. Starting from Manteigas, a village nestled in the Serra da Estrela, the journey begins with the unique feeling of being immersed in the wild nature. The fresh mountain air and the lush landscape provide the perfect backdrop for a day of exploration.
The road winds through deep valleys and alongside crystal-clear rivers, with the terrain beginning to soften as you leave the mountains behind. Each kilometer reveals a new view, sometimes with mountains stretching endlessly on the horizon, and other times with cultivated fields and small villages emerging discreetly between the hills. The constantly changing landscape offers a sense of freedom that only a motorcycle ride can provide.
As you approach Belver, the scenery becomes more peaceful, and the pace of the road slows down. Belver, with its impressive medieval castle, appears on the horizon like a true historical gem. The small village, with its cobbled streets and traditional houses, invites exploration. The Belver Castle, standing on a hill overlooking the Tejo River, is a must-see.
From there, the view of the river and the surrounding landscape is breathtaking, offering the perfect spot to rest and take in the beauty of the region. Upon reaching Belver, the rider feels the satisfaction of having traversed a route full of beauty and history, where the spirit of adventure blends with the tranquility of an untouched landscape, creating memories that will last forever.

The ride from Belver to Évora is a stage that crosses the vastness of the Alentejo, a region of wide landscapes, ancient history, and a tranquil pace of life, perfect for exploring by motorcycle. Leaving Belver, with its medieval castle and the Tejo River winding in the background, the track begins to smooth out, and the mountains give way to golden plains and open fields that stretch as far as the eye can see.
As the journey progresses, the Alentejo landscape reveals its quiet beauty. The wide, straight roads, surrounded by olive trees, vineyards, and wheat fields, offer a smooth ride, with the sense of freedom heightened by the vastness of the territory. The sky, vast and blue, seems to open up as the wind hits the face, and the sound of the engines is almost the only thing breaking the silence of the landscape.
The route is marked by small villages and towns, where whitewashed houses with red roofs blend with the fields, creating a welcoming and traditional contrast. The Alentejo, with its warm, earthy colors, is felt in every corner of the road, inviting riders to take breaks and appreciate the calm and simplicity of the countryside.
As you approach Évora, the landscape begins to change slightly, with the terrain becoming more undulating and occasional small groves and isolated trees appearing along the way. Arriving in Évora is a reward for the senses, where culture and history intertwine with the natural beauty of the region.
This stage, marked by the tranquility of the Alentejo, provides an immersive and unforgettable experience for motorcyclists, who feel part of a landscape that stretches all the way to the horizon.

The ride from Évora to Algarve is a true journey through the richness of both Alentejo and the Algarve, where the countryside meets the coast, and the landscapes transform from golden plains to the beautiful southern beaches.
Departing from Évora, with its medieval castle and tranquil streets, the track begins to gently descend south, leaving behind the vast agricultural lands of Alentejo and giving way to a more rolling and lively landscape. As you follow the route, the plains slowly give way to more wooded areas, with olive groves and vineyards appearing along the road. The climate begins to warm, and the terrain softens, as the motorcycle glides along peaceful roads connecting the small, traditional villages of the region.
The rhythm of the ride is smooth, with the sound of the engines blending with the natural sounds of the landscape: the songs of birds, the soft breeze through the trees, and the occasional murmur of a stream.
As you approach the Algarve region, the landscape begins to change dramatically. The green hills and cultivated fields give way to drier areas, with the characteristic Mediterranean vegetation – cistus, olive trees, and pines – announcing the proximity of the sea. The track becomes more winding, and the first glimpses of the coast begin to appear, with the deep blue of the ocean merging with the clear sky.
Cacela Velha then rises on the horizon, with its traditional architecture and the Cacela Castle, standing atop a hill, offering a spectacular view over the dunes and the golden sand beach. The village, with its narrow streets and whitewashed houses, is a charming place, preserving the allure of a traditional Algarve village.
Arriving in Cacela Velha feels like stepping into a fairytale, where time seems to slow down, allowing motorcyclists to explore every corner of the town and enjoy the serenity of the location. The highlight of this stage is undoubtedly the stunning view of Cacela Velha Beach, stretching along the coast, with crystal-clear waters and Mediterranean vegetation surrounding the area.
After the long journey through the interior, arriving at the coast is refreshing and revitalizing. This route, starting from the tranquility of Alentejo and ending at the Algarve beaches, offers riders a unique experience where the freedom of the road meets the natural beauty and history of Portugal.
